PC Zeus has been established in order to facilitate easy access to geological / hydrological data from the Danish national geological / hydrogeological database at local authorities, drilling companies and engineering companies. The national geological / hydrogeological database includes information about 200,000 borings.
PC Zeus was developed in corporation with the Danish drilling companies and local authorities from the Danish counties. The data-base is now are used fourteen out of sixteen counties, at the major drilling companies as well as at engineering companies, local authorities at smaller scale and education institutions all over Denmark. The database is used to water supply management, planning of new water supply wells, hydrological modelling and research.
PC Zeus is a low-tech low-price database based on dBase IV. The programme includes simple graphical output of well report forms, geological cross sections and well distribution maps. PC Zeus can be used on small computers at drilling companies with out further software investments.
At counties and engineering companies the programme can be linked easily to geographical information systems and other graphical package's and more skilled users has access to advanced search- / calculation routines and the possibility of expanding the system with user written routines in full dBase IV syntax.
