Description: During the establishment of a national Cambodian hydrogeological database and infrastructure for collection storing and exchange of data GEUS has served as advisor for the General Directorate of Irrigation, Meteorology and Hydrology (GDIMH) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing in Cambodia.

During the project a national database was established with a main database at the GDIMH office in Phnom Penh and local databases with data entry forms in the provinces and a standard well report form for the drilling companies. The database is written in Visual dBase and the graphical programmes for displaying and printing well report forms, geological cross sections and well distribution maps are written in Delphi. The programmes run under Windows 3.1 or later.

The geological part of the Cambodian database is build over the same ideas as the Danish national geological database with a highly structured and mnemo technique encoded data values to ensure best possible data validation and most efficient data retrieval.
