DATA ACCESS

Access to the GERDA database is free of charge. A wide range of geophysical data collected from Denmark is available in the database.

Go to  Map View and take a look at the current data availability for the Danish area. You can select the different types of data simply by clicking the map. If you would like more information on the data or decide to download data, please refer to the Danish language website. This presentation (4 Mb) shows in a few slides how to proceed.

A query form (in Danish) allows you to select datasets according to type of data, UTM area, client, data collector, project name, purpose, investigation area or time for collection or GERDA upload.

Data formats

All types of geoelectrical and electromagnetic data can be uploaded to and downloaded from the GERDA website in the PCGerda database format (defined for Access, Interbase/Firebird and SQL Server). Furthermore, logging data can be up- and downloaded in the LAS format, and seismic data can be uploaded in the SEGY format. Before a user can upload data to GERDA, he or she should be registered as a data supplier with the GEUS. During the upload of data to GERDA, an e-mail automatically notifies the user once the data has been loaded into the database. The e-mail also contains a report describing any problems with the data.

The PCGerda database format is shown in this diagram and the tables and fields are described in detail here.
