Peter Rasmussen is a senior research scientist, Ph.D. (palaeoecologist) using sediment records from lakes, estuaries and small forest hollows to explore the nature of past environmental change under changing climates and cultural influences. His expertise includes pollen- and macrofossil analysis which in combination with other proxy approaches is used to reconstruct: i. Long-term vegetation dynamics and landscape change, ii. Past climatic changes and their environmental impacts, and iii. Recent and long term palaeolimnology of lakes and estuaries. Currently he is involved in the following projects:

“Celtic fields in East Denmark – dating and environment”
“From forgotten outskirts to royal hunting ground – NE Zealand during the last 3,000 years”
