Niels Nørgaard-Pedersen is marine geologist/paleoceanographer trained at reconstruction of sedimentary environments and Quaternary-Holocene climate variability in the Arctic and North Atlantic region. His present focus is on Greenlandic fjord sedimentation related to outlet glacier dynamics and climate impact. He is leading the project “Kanersuneq Ice Fjord: An ice-dynamic laboratory”, and participates in the projects SEDIMICE, PERMAGAS, and Nordic Coastal Network Group. In addition to climate-related research, he contributes to GEUS's shallow geophysical surveys in Danish waters, performed in relation to governmental and private consultancy projects.
