IIngun Ziska Nielsen is a geologist trained in seismic interpretation. She is conducting a Ph.D. within the “The Sea-Change project” which focuses on the Quaternary geological development on the shelf along Western Greenland from the Disko area and southwards to the Nuuk area. Besides working on the shelf area, the research also includes the Nuup Kangerlua Fjord system at Nuuk. Previously she worked in the NE Atlantic in the region south of the Faroe Islands, where she focused on the Tertiary development of the Wyville-Thomson Ridge Complex.
