Camilla S. Andresen is a geologist/paleoclimatologist trained in numerous proxy methods. She has worked on various projects aimed at reconstruction of Holocene climate variability in the North Atlantic region on the basis of marine and lacustrine sediment core studies from The Faroe Islands, Iceland and East-, South- and West Greenland. Her main focus is presently on reconstruction of past variability in fast flowing outlet glaciers Jakobshavn and Helheim Glaciers and she is leading the SEDIMICE project ('Linking Sediments with ice-sheet response and glacier retreat in Southeast Greenland') which focuses on outlet glaciers in Southeast Greenland. Past changes in glacier calving and oceanographic conditions are reconstructed on the basis of multi-proxy analysis of sediment cores retrieved from the fjords and the shelf by these glaciers. The investigated time periods spans the past 100 years in detail and the Late Holocene in general.
