Abstract

An ArcView based glaciotectonic map of Denmark was created and based on that a glaciotectonic map is created. Glaciotectonic features are classified in seven categories, 1) large composite-ridges, 2) small composite-ridges, 3) smoothened ridge, 4) hole, 5) cupola hill, 6) concealed complex, and 7) raft.

The glaciotectonic features are correlated to certain ice advances and a series of event-stratigraphic maps is created. Many morphological features can be related to the Main Weichselian advance (the Frankfurt advance in north Germany), the Young Baltic advance (the Pomeranian advance in North Germany) and readvances of the Young Baltic Glaciation called the Bælthav advance (the Fehmern advance in north Germany). Glaciotectonic features related to older advances from earlier glaciations are assembled in one theme.

Key words: Glaciotectonic map, glaciotectonic event stratigraphy, Denmark.
