Danish Environmental Protection Agency under the programme "Danish Cooperation for Environment in the Arctic - Dancea" Stimulated by the historic UN Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, Denmark has initiated large-scale environmental assistance to developing countries, to Eastern Europe and to the Arctic.
The overall aim of the Dancea programme is to help ensure preservation of nature, sustainable exploitation of the natural resources and environmentally sustainable development of society, as well as to survey, prevent and curtail pollution of the air, water and land.
