The department has the responsibility for the central archives, electronic databases and GIS. The archives include all relevant data types acquired during oil and gas activities in the subsurface of Denmark and Greenland, marine geological data, as well as data acquired during exploitation for raw materials and from water supply wells.

Data sales and information service (e-mail info-data@geus.dk) is an integrated part of the databank activities. The department has specialised in delivering data on all relevant formats.

The department develops and runs the central GEUS databases and provides GIS services to internal and external users.
