Laboratory for petrological and mineralogical studies and acquisition of digital images.

Key instruments
Two Zeiss Axioscope 40 microscopes, one with a rotating object table and one with a precision X-Ytable for digital mosaic images. Digital camera (MRc5) and AxioVision image processing facilities are available.

Restrictions on access
Priority to the Microscopy Laboratory is given to the staff of the Department of Petrology and Economic Geology including students associated with or working for the department. Others are requested to make reservations. First time users must receive instruction by a qualified user.

Prices
External users are asked to contribute to the running-costs of the laboratory.
